Come along for a night of fun and frolics. Well, at least, fun!

Come and play some surrealistic word games with us to celebrate the Carry a Poem initiative in a French fashion... You don't even need to have great French: just bring a dictionary and you're off! :-)

No idea what a cadavre exquis is? Check out wikipedia! Honestly this is great fun! (see this too - there is an english translation above)

To get us started, we may watch Un chien andalou by Bunuel (to get the surrealistic vibe!) - we'll see on the night!

What I would love as well is if you could bring along a copy of a favourite poem (or email me the title - I can look it up for you!) -- I would like to take photos of everyone's favourite poems to do a sort of collage/montage...

Otherwise --- Same rules as cineclub apply (see below)....

Photo rule: as the event takes place at mine, I prefer to know who is going to come along, and so will only welcome members who have a photo of themselves on their profile.
I will email anyone who does not have a photograph after they RSVP for the event. If they choose not to have a photo, they then cannot attend the event (even with members I have met previously).
However, non-members are very welcome (without photo) so long they are accompanied by a member.

PLEASE NOTE THE LATER STARTING TIME OF 8pm -- it is to leave me enough time to prepare the living room!

The film club takes place at mine and the film is shown on the wall thanks to a projector.

BYOB: The event is completely free.

But you MUST bring along what you eat/drink, with a view to sharing with everyone (in other words, do bring some wine if you're going to drink wine, but bring some tea, juice etc if that's your drink of choice!)

Regarding nibbles - anything you want, but not too much of it! In the past cheese, olives, crisps have all been popular! Basically bring what you want. You're welcome to take back anything that's not been eaten, or to leave it: the choice is yours!!

TIDYING UP: We will provide plastic cups/plates: help me by disposing of them before you go :-)
We also have a recycling system in place - remember to dispose of some of the bottles, cans etc... in the appropriate bins

RESTRICTED SMOKING: My flat is a smoking flat, however when we have a meetup, smoking is restricted to just one room (the kitchen), for the meetup.
On rare occasions, the living room can become a smoking space as well (after 1am, from past experience)
Reminder: this is my flat - not a public space! Happy to lend it, but happy if my rules are respected! Merci!


CATS: I have 2 cats - let me know if you are either allergic or scared of cats, so I will put them in my bedroom if need be.

START TIME: 7.30pm with a view to starting the film at 8pm, but call me if you're late: we could manage to hold on for 15 minutes!!! Please bear in mind that the sooner you arrive, the more likely you are to get a proper seat (though there will be cushions on the floor!!)

END TIME: It's entirely up to us, though if I am tired, I may not volunteer any of my famous Mongolian whisky, Basque liqueur or French poire.

LIMITED AVAILABILITY: this is a limited availability event as it's taking place in my flat! (that's why there is no "maybe" option!) so please do make sure you don't cancel at the last minute!

ADDRESS: I will email the address to the participants on the Thursday night before the cineclub, so make sure you check your email then!
